BOOK REVIEW - Hothouse flower (addicted,#2.2) Calloway sisters 2

5th book in the series, and still can't get over it, it feels like the further i go, i am in a scarcity of  words. but anyways , no matter how much dearth i am in i will keep going further and keep moisturizing my soul with these enriching and augment novels.
Lets dive in ....................

This is the 5th book if you’re reading this series in order. It’s the first one that focuses on Ryke and Daisy. Ryke and Daisy have been a long time coming. But Daisy was always too young. Too off limits. Now, she’s 18. Things have changed for her, made her see things different and changed her outlook on life. The last 3 years have been crazy. One person has been there for her. Has been her true friend. Her protecter and confident. Her Ryke.

Ryke Meadows:

Fucking Broody. Fucking Moody. Fucking Asshole. Fucking Misunderstood. Fucking crazy. Fucking protector. Fucking hero. Fucking brother.
A badass guy who (fucking) swears a lot that if you don’t know him, you’d judge him as a jackass. Reading this book made me understand his character. He definitely definitely has more than what he decides to show people. He actually is very smart and very kind-hearted. He was just being an actual human who has a grudge in the past that he finds difficult to move on from because it concerned his family. And tbh to y’all, even if you didn’t experience what he’s been through, his childhood and all, you would feel his pain, his grudge. He may be stone cold to the eyes of others but he actually is a softy. His love for the people he care about is beyond words. He would do anything, and i mean anything for the people he loves. And for that, he’s now part of my book boyfriend list. LOL

Daisy Calloway:

A teenager beyond her years. A model. The forgotten sister. The little girl. The peacekeeper. Wild. Crazy. Adventurous.
A free-spirited, adventurous, and challenging girl. So before reading this book, you’d think she’s happy and okay with her life because who wouldn’t when you’re rich; you have everything, you’re a model, you’re pretty, you travel anywhere you want, and you have access to all leisure stuff you could possibly want. But during and after reading this, you’d know that this girl is actually broken. She would just want her mom to be happy and content that she would sacrifice her happiness, her freedom, her teenage years for her. She actually didn’t really want to be a model, but it was her mom who wanted her to be one. She even had a line in the book that says something like, ”what if the one thing you’re good at isn’t the one you love?” (i’m sure those are not the exact words but that’s the gist of it). Unfortunately, the Paris riot had to happen just for her to realize all this and gather the courage to tell her mom about. I felt so bad for her.. because she was dealing with her life struggles and she was also dealing with the aftermath of Lily’s sex addition scandal. Her own friends actually wanted to abuse her because everyone was assuming that she’d also be a sex addict like her sister. Since she was the youngest from the Calloway sisters, it made it easy for everyone to assume that. And these troubles caused her nightmares, traumatic incidents that resulted to her not being able to sleep at all. It was bad. It was difficult.

It started out as a friendship. Two people forced together through their family and friends. A teenager and her protector. A guy who looked out for the girl. Circumstances brought them closer. What was once forbidden became real. Friendship became more. Want became reality.
.
The only physical contact Ryke offers Daisy is a kiss on the cheek on the forehead, snuggles in bed, and his strong arms to pull her out of her nightmares.

Hothouse Flower is truly beautiful. It is probably the most anticipated of the series. Daisy has known Ryke for years. The attraction between them has been growing. The friendship's unbreakable. Daisy wants Ryke. Ryke wants Daisy. Daisy has always been too young. Ryke has been terrified to defy his brother Lo. Now that Daisy is of age, Ryke knows it is going to be harder to stay away. He has spent so much time taking care of her. Sleeping beside her but never giving in to temptation. This is their time! This is their story and it is just heart stopping, romantic, steamy, raw, and beautiful all at the same time!
The romantic plot of this book is also remarkable. Ryke and Daisy's attraction towards each other in the earlier books was very apparent but this time, their feelings are already unstoppable. I especially love the way Ryke comforts Daisy and supports her whenever she experiences night terrors and paranoia. The way he always stays with her despite the fact that everyone around them are against their love affair was so touching.

The way Ryke also proves to Daisy that she deserves so much better when it comes to guys... I'm speechless. No words. Ryke is everything.

Daisy is preparing to leave for fashion week alone. Ryke is terrified that she will need him and he won't be able to help her. He decides it's best to try to push her away. He tells her they should see other people. Daisy is so strong and yet so broken.
.
Daisy leaving breaks Ryke! He is so torn between being with her and betraying Lo! It is truly heartbreaking watching him struggle!

"None of us are really normal. We’re all just strange pieces in the world. And the half that usually connects with me is thousands of miles away, in Paris."

As soon as Daisy is gone, Ryke realizes that he doesn't want Daisy with anyone else. He only wants her to be his!

Daisy is struggling at fashion week. She can't sleep. She can't eat. She can't be with anyone else. She has a breakdown and calls Ryke. In that instant, he knows he needs to be with her.
.
Ryke goes to her. When these two finally come together it is beautiful. Ryke is so gentle and yet so demanding with her. Daisy is so overcome with joy to have him.

“What we have,” he says. “I love you beyond physical attraction.” He cups my smooth cheek, looking deep into my eyes. “I love you, Dais, because you’re the wildest girl with the biggest heart. And without you in my life”—he shakes his head like it’s an inconceivable picture—“I’d be the unhappiest guy.”-Ryke

After things get messy in Paris, Ryke, Lo, and Connor bring Daisy back to the states and they head on a road trip. No that Ryke and Daisy are together they have to keep their romance a secret. Daisy's sisters join the road trip and the group is all together again. Now things have changed. As a reader who has been following this group, things feel complete. The anxiety is still brewing about what everyone will think when everything is revealed!

When the paparazzi catches up to the group, they are separated. Ryke and Daisy get precious time together. They get to be a real couple. Ride fast on the motorcycle, make love under the stars, hold hands, and just lavish in being together.

Ryke and Daisy have had to face so much. First- being apart. Now- being together! I won't ruin what happens when everyone finds out. Let's just say Ryke will fight with everything has to be with Daisy. Forever!

I just cannot say enough about the love I have for this series. This book was especially unique because watching Ryke and Daisy finally be together was something fans have been waiting for a very long time! Love this couple!

If I could give this a rating higher than a 5*, I would not hesitate!
Krista Ritchie gave Daisy Calloway and Ryke Meadows an epic love story filled with true passionate love, support, friendship, and unwavering desire. Not one single let down from start to finish!
Reading Krista and Becca’s books once is simply not enough. You’ll go back to it every day and if not, every once in a while, just like home. After all of the heart-break I went through with Hothouse Flower, I couldn’t be anymore happy how it all turns out. This is easily one of the best and most heart wrenching books I’ve ever read to date.
